35mm film look

The Holy Grail for videographers has always been simulating the look of film. HD 24p cameras; like the HVX200a RiellyBoy runs with, are a major step towards that goal. High Def Video frames can now be created at the same rate (24 per second) and the same type (progressive instead of interlaced) as film frames. But even high end video cameras are traditionally equipped with zoom lenses that offer relatively short focul lengths; great for keeping a sporting event in focus, not so great for creating the shallow depth of field we see at the movies. The answer embraced by independent film makers has been dof (depth of field) adapters that allow traditional fixed focul length 35mm lenses to be used. For those projects that need a touch of Hollywood (or Sundance), RiellyBoy Productions offers the Letus 35 Extreme with Nikon 35mm lenses.
